Coaching and Officiating

Swiss Netball works hard to create opportunities for its Members to obtain access to coaching and officiating training and awards. We aim to increase the number of officials within Switzerland holding internationally recognised qualifications, which will in turn support the improvement of Netball standards.

Swiss Netball has a clear Umpire Pathway, which begins with the Swiss Netball Beginner Umpire Award and then progresses through the Netball Europe and INF standard levels (C, B, A then International Umpire). These awards can only be delivered by accredited tutors from Swiss Netball or Netball Europe. The current plan focuses on consolidating the number of C and B Umpires in Switzerland.

Swiss Netball also supports the improvement of coaching standards, running workshops and, where possible, offering opportunities to Swiss coaches to observe and assist with training for the National Squad. The Association is currently working to develop netball specific coaching qualifications in line with the national government standards for youth and sport (Jeunesse et Sport) to qualify coaches in country.

If you’d like to get involved as a coach, umpire or bench official, please contact your local Netball club, which receives all the information from Swiss Netball on upcoming training opportunities. If you don’t belong a club and you’re looking to get involved and would like some help, then please contact Swiss Netball via admin@swissnetball.ch
