Nationalkader

The National Squad was selected in January 2015 - there are 18 athletes in this programme altogether and they are lead by Samantha Brightman. 2015 has been a busy year for them having attended for the European Championships in Belfast in May and coming runners up in the Challenge competition the team have also toured to London, welcomed teams from the Royal Navy and Barking Abbey for much needed matchplay ahead of their October date with Canada on home soil .

The team have made great progress on court and have grown in confidence as a squad throughout their year of training. The squad Includes 3 athletes who have stepped up from Cadre and Under 17 programme and these young women are a valuable asset to the programme.

Under 17 Team

Switzerland was first represented at Under 17 level at the European Championships in 2010. From this early debut into international netball, the development programme for junior players was then implemented through a Cadre d'espoir, which over the course of 5 years improved the standards of netball in Switzerland beyond recognition for the first flurry into high performance netball. In 2015, the team took gold, winning their group and becoming European U17 Challenge Cup Champions.

As of 2016, National Squads training for both junior and senior athletes is coordinated as part of a year-long programme. The Under 17 team is selected from the junior athletes.

Swiss Netball is grateful to Dasnair, a great supporter of netball in Switzerland and proud sponsor of the 2016 Swiss Under 17 Team as they train, prepare, and travel to compete at the Netball Europe Championships in Gibraltar, in March 2016.
