About National Squads

Swiss Netball is proud of the achievements and growth of its National Squad Programme.

Switzerland has participated every year in Netball Europe Competitions since the formation of the National Squad in 2010. Netball Europe Competitions are key events in the Swiss Netball calendar.

As an Association, we work closely with our clubs and schools and have formed our own Avenir Suisse programme to support athletes along the National Player Pathway.

Swiss Netball are the 2019, U17 Netball Europe Challenge Cup Champions and were promoted to the Netball Europe Championship Division for 2020 - this was the biggest and most exciting challenge in our Netball history.

In 2019 Switzerland formed its first-ever Under 19 National Team and in the same year, they participated in the European Invitational Competition, in Dublin, Ireland.

In 2023 Switzerland participated for the first time in a Europe Netball U21 event. Being able to field teams in the U21, U17 and Open age groups for the 2023-24 season was a great achievement.

In 2012 and for the following 4 consecutive years, Switzerland participated in the Netball Europe Open Challenge Competition and their highest World ranking to date is 28th

Switzerland are now back in the list of world-ranked teams due to their participation in the 2021 and 2022 Europe Netball Challenge Cup headed by Head Coach at the time, Vanessa McErlain-Naylor, where they came in at 46th.

Switzerland also fielded a team in the 2023 Europe Netball Challenge Cup.

Mollie Brodie who is a former player and Captain for Switzerland took over as Head Coach for the 2023-24 season and Switzerland entered the Europe Netball Challenge Cup once again in 2024 and are now placed 47th due to the inclusion of France in the World Ranking table.
