About Us
Know Our Story
Formed in 2009, the Association, organised by volunteers, has been paramount in supporting the development of this fast and fun sport across Switzerland. The U17 Team have won the Netball Europe Challenge Cup in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2019, and played in the Europe Netball Championship Cup Division in 2020.
The National Open Team first obtained a world ranking in 2012 and has climbed as high as 28th in the world.
Swiss Netball is governed by its Statutes and Articles 60 to 79 of the Swiss Civil Code.

To maximise awareness and participation of Netball in Switzerland
Playing sport is a great source of empowerment and skills development for girls and women. Netball has over 20 million participants world wide.

Swiss Netball Committee
The Swiss Netball Committee is responsible for managing the affairs of the association which include determining strategic direction, goals and policies. The committee is a dynamic team with a passion for all things Netball, and the belief that team sport can provide positive life changing outcomes through the development of leadership and teamwork skills. Our committee team brings a wide range of professional skills and experience and give our time on a 100% voluntary basis. Claudia Almer
Passionate about all things netball, Claudia has been involved with Swiss Netball since 2012, from Coach and President of Zurich Netball club, to Captain of the Swiss National Squad. With a goal to further develop Netball and increase awareness of our great sport across the country, Claudia is excited to be leading this amazing community for the 2026-27 season.

Vonny Hermanto
From Australia, Vonny moved to Switzerland in 2021.
She began her career in the banking sector in Perth, before moving to Dubai, to pursue an exciting role with Emirates Airlines. After relocating to Munich, she took time to focus on her family. In her last career, she worked as Secretary General.
She is passionate about supporting the growth of netball, particularly in the Swiss-German region.

Anne Carroll
Originally from Scotland, Anne has a professional
background in banking and insurance, now a full-time mum of two. A dedicated member of the netball community, Anne has been with Aubonne Netball Club since 2019, where she currently serves as Club Secretary, Wellbeing & Protection Officer and Coach.
She strongly believes that team sports offer a wonderful environment for children to build confidence, hone their athletic ability, and forge lifelong friendships.

Tarnee Adams
Tarnee has been involved in every possible aspect of Netball since she was 8 years old. From playing and supporting, to small stints in coaching and officiating state league matches in Victoria (AUS), she has always been around the game. After relocating to Switzerland in 2024 to further her teaching career, she quickly found a home away from home at Zürich Netball Club.

Sarah Cooper
Sarah is from the UK and has been living in Switzerland since 2015. She is excited to build on her Netball Committee experience, having been General Secretary on the Committee of Geneva Girls Netball Association from 2023 – 2026. Sarah is a passionate advocate of sport for young and not-so-young people, and girls in particular. She loves how sport brings people together and is keen to support the growth of netball in Switzerland. Sarah works full time as a project manager and is Mum to one netballer.

There are numerous opportunities to get involved in all key areas of work, short-term or long-term, giving just a few hours of your time, or more!
For Swiss Netball to grow and develop at all levels, we need more volunteers from across Switzerland, for short or long-term initiatives, to help in a wide range of areas of work: administration, membership support and development, communications and marketing, coordination of training opportunities, sponsorship, governance and legal matters, financial governance, administration, operational support for events and the National Squad, officiating and coaching coordination.
